By attending an appointment, you are agreeing to our terms & conditions below.

MATTED COATS
The Animal Welfare Act (2007) states that “All animals are to be protected from pain, suffering and disease”.
De-matting is a painful and distressing procedure and will therefore not be carried out.
Where we consider the coat to be severely mated, the coat will be shaved off with clippers, using the longest blade we can safely glide through the coat without pulling or snagging. The blades are usually a 7F which leaves the hair 3mm long or a 10F which leaves the hair 1.6 mm long. This is not a painful procedure but will leave the coat very short.
When a severely matted coat is clipped off, all the blood rushes back up to the surface of the skin which causes the redness. This doesn’t last long and soon settles. In case of bleeding, we will apply a natural antiseptic (Leucillin) spray to calm the area.
We Pet Care has no liability or responsibility for any vets’ fees if health i.e. skin irritation that is exposed when clipping off a matted coat. The owner will be required to sign a waiver form if the coat is severely matted.
The groom may not look perfect however, it is more important that the matting is removed, and the dog is comfortable. There is usually a £10 fee on top of the groom, this covers the sharpening of blades and extra time incurred.
Pregnancy & Season
Please let us know if there is a chance that your dog is in season or pregnant as We Pet Care is unable to groom dogs under this condition for their welfare.
If your dog arrives at the salon in season, you will be unable to complete service and due to the lack of notice, you will be required to pay for the appointment.
For dogs that have been in season, they need to wait 2 weeks after the bleeding has stopped, as this is the period when they are ready to mate and still in season.
Pregnant girls will need to wait until puppies are weaned, usually around 5-7 weeks.
Cancellations
Please note we require 48 hours' notice for any cancellations or rescheduling. This is so we have enough time to offer the appointment time to another dog needing our services. If an appointment is missed, we will require a £20 non-refundable deposit for your next appointment and 48 hours notice will need to be given for a reschedule & to keep the deposit.
Parasites
We Pet Care reserves the right to decline to groom dogs with fleas. Please treat your dog for 48 hours before bringing them into the salon for the welfare of your dog and other dogs using our salon. If your dog is found to have fleas at drop-off, we may have to reschedule your appointment. If your dog is found to have fleas once being groomed, the groom will be completed (flea shampoo used). However, an additional charge of £15 will be applied for the time and cost of disinfecting the salon.
We will remove ticks free of charge if found during the groom.
Pet Health
To help us give your dog the best experience possible, we would like to ask you to identify any ongoing or new health conditions at the point of drop-off. This will allow us to make your dog as comfortable as possible. We reserve the right to refuse service for certain health conditions, for example, if they have an open wound.
Vet Care
We endeavour to provide the best service possible, however, in the rare case of an accident, the service user agrees for We Pet Care to transport their dog to the nearest vet for treatment if required. The pet owner also agrees to pay any and all fees that are not covered by our insurance (pre-existing conditions etc).
Payment
Cash or card payment is required upon collection of the pet. We also accept payment by bank transfer account No 63960781 Sort code 20-88-13 We cannot accept cheques as a form of payment.
Payment cannot be made at a later date.
Late pick up
We understand if you are running late. However, due to the local council legislation to keep dogs beyond their grooming process requires us to be licenced for day boarding, this is very expensive and due to our small property size would not be approved. For the comfort of the next client collection on time is essential.
Photos
We are grateful you have chosen us to groom. We Pet Care will sometimes use photos of your dog on our website or social media outlets etc. If you do not wish for your dog to be photographed, please notify us at drop-off.
Slander
Under the malicious communications act 1998 section 1, We Pet Care will not accept or tolerate any slander, malicious falsehood or defamation via social media outlets relating to a groom due to coats that have not been maintained at home (matted coat), or miscommunication. If you are unhappy, please contact us immediately on 01622910065 and we will try our best to resolve the issue.
